This is my first novel. It’s about a motivational speaker who has a breakdown and grows a beard and gains weight and checks himself into a treatment center. There’s a character named Claudia who drives a Ford pickup and another one named Faruq and-yes, it’s a little bizarre. Haha. It was so much fun to write. I laughed so much while writing it and then hearing about how many people have laughed while reading it has been incredibly rewarding.
You’ll notice it doesn’t have a cover. I did that because I thought it would be much more interesting to invite people to read the book and then make their own cover. And they did. Here are some of my favorites so far (And of course, if you read the book and want to take a crack at it, I’d love it, just tag me on instagram.)
So a number of you have been making covers for my new novel Millones Cajones and I've loved them. So good. And then I saw this one, which is my new favorite. Now here's the unexpected twist: when I tracked down the person who made it, it turns out it's Todd Luter @lutert – a friend of mine from high school! We hung out in 1984. Todd! You have these skillz? Amazing.
We have another winner! My new novel doesn't have a cover so anyone can make one. This one was made by the illustrator Naters Calderone, who noticed that the main character Yves sitting on the edge of the bed is a subtle recurring theme in the book. The reason I find this funny is that I never noticed that, and I wrote it! Haha. To see more of Naters great work check out his excellent tumblr page naters-art.tumblr.com
